F.W. Woolworth Co./Shoppers World (circa 1940)

Shoppers World is a staple of Knickerbocker’s shopping district. You need school supplies? Hit up Shoppers World. You need cleaning products, a couch, or presents for your little cousin’s birthday party? Shoppers World is the plug. But before Shoppers World occupied this space, another New York City shopping staple did: F.W. Woolworth. Woolworth was the original 99cent store, as their initial business model centered on selling most items for a nickel and a dime. As the K-Marts and Wal-Marts of the world entered capitalism’s fray, Woolworth eventually shuttered its doors.

Brooklyn Ft. Greene

Last Thursday was mad real
Ahora en este carro aguantando frío.
Process papi…
Process…

Just keep working.
Turning that timon!
Take those turns,
No one will.

En la familia Jiménez hay muchos
Que escriben poesía.
Todavía no hay un poeta.
Dobla, frena.
Turn them wheels, no one will.

Oye bacano todavia no hay
Un poeta,
So what’s the deal?
Process my G!

Vamos hablar tierra natal,
Nadar en el rio de Sosua.
1929 y ahora no hay cambios.
Los trujillistas still paint
Or attempt painting faces
White.

No Haitians allowed beyond this point!

Hay que pasar Boca Chica
Para ver Andres
Mi querido platanero.
Rant! rant! rant!
Jibaro, poor little nigga.
Abre los ojos

Process.
